The beginning of a new school year is right around the corner. There’s so much to look forward to! Sometimes coming up with a variety of healthy lunchbox meals is a challenge. Here are a few ideas to nourish the kiddos so they can stay focused on their schoolwork and enjoy their day. Adding stickers, a fun riddle or a little note always make lunchtime a little more special.

 

Lunchbox 1

5 greens, 4 yellows

 

Main: Spinach wrap filled with sliced turkey, 2 slices avocado, tomato, and spring mix

 

Sides: Plain popcorn, tangerine, strawberries

 

Drink: 8 oz water or skim milk

 

Lunchbox 2

4 greens, 3 yellows

 

Main: Fun-shaped pasta with peas and a light vinaigrette

 

Sides:  Cherry tomatoes, low-fat mozzarella cubes, grapes

 

Drink: 8 oz water or skim milk

 

Lunchbox 3

5 greens, 3 yellows

 

Main: Pizza English muffins (whole wheat English muffin, tomato sauce, low-fat mozzarella)
Pro Tip: Add your favorite green lights as a topping!

 

Sides: Green and red bell pepper slices, snap peas, raspberries.

 

Drink: 8 oz water or skim milk

 

Lunchbox 4

4 greens, 2 yellows

 

Main: Cold soba noodles with steamed broccoli, radish and carrot sticks with soy sauce and seasoned rice vinegar

 

Sides: Cucumbers, Kurbo hummus, apple slices

 

Drink: 8 oz water or skim milk

 

Lunchbox 5

2 greens, 4 yellows

 

Main: Whole wheat pancakes, turkey sausage links

 

Sides: Plain yogurt, blueberries, Cheerios cereal

 

Drink: 8 oz water or skim milk
